Safe Haven

Safe Haven photo"Safe Haven" is a bronze sculpture featuring Canadian geese descending into a body of water. It was designed for the lobby of Emerson One by Eastern Shore artist Will Hemsley of Hemsley & Son Fine Art. Inspired by the Chesapeake Bay region and its natural beauty, the Hemsleys' work is well-known throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. The "Waterman's Monument" sculpture on Kent Island is a well-known example of their work and a landmark tribute to the history of Maryland's iconic waterman trade.

In keeping with the sustainable goals for Emerson One, "Safe Haven" was commissioned as a tribute to the Chesapeake Bay region and the natural resources that green construction strives to protect, while using a Maryland resource for which the project received no LEED® credit - a Maryland artist working with a Baltimore bronze foundry.
